Jennifer Nelson is a Content Writer at Hennessey Digital. She has been crafting creative copy for clients for more than 7 years after spending 12 years as a dog groomer intuiting what each customer means when they ask for a “puppy cut.”
Raised in the Denver area, she now resides in the Houston area with her rescued senior dog, Jules. Both arthritic, Jennifer and Jules enjoy taking multiple short walks throughout the day to get gentle exercise without taxing themselves in the South Texas heat. Indoors, Jennifer can be found watching a variety of content (not necessarily in English) while Jules naps.
Fun trivia bit about me:
I was nearly fluent in French about 20 years ago but have forgotten a lot. I also know some Spanish; can understand some spoken Hindi; and can read, write, and understand some Thai. I'm not especially great at speaking in any language, though, including English.
On my bucket list:
I guess learning more languages and improving my knowledge of French, Spanish, Thai, and Hindi.
My hero is:
I don't really have any specific heroes, but I admire people who have had nontraditional career paths and/or who have made careers by using their voice in some way.
Favorite food of all time:
Chicken and chocolate - but not (necessarily) at the same time!
If I could sing or play an instrument like anyone, it would be ...:
I wish I could sing like somebody who isn't completely tone-deaf! At least I'm too tone-deaf to be bothered by my own singing, but I don't inflict my voice upon others.
My #1 HD Core Principle
My favorite guiding principle is "Never Stop Learning" because I genuinely LOVE to learn. Whether it's doing continuing education for work, watching documentaries, or learning new languages just for fun, I enjoy adding new knowledge and skills to my brain.
