My dad—yes, I'm a daddy's girl, but high school was a whole different story. He's my hero because he showed me that you can come from nothing and become a respected, successful professional through love, dedication, and consistency. After losing his chance to join the Twins and Cardinals due to a fraternity stunt that wrecked his pitching arm at the University of Alabama, he had to give up his dreams of playing in the big leagues. Instead, he made a huge impact in the financial world. What I admire most about him is his unwavering dedication to his clients and his faith. His clients have followed him from previous financial establishments to his own firm. He's one of the rare few who always delivers on his promises. At 72, he still holds pitching records at the University of Alabama, and I doubt anyone will break them—at least not on my watch.
Mexican, just all of it
The Drums. Because have you ever met a drummer who wasn’t cool? It looks awesome and would boost my hand-eye coordination while letting me stylishly groove to my drumming beats—hiding the fact that I’m an uncoordinated, two-left-feet, Elaine-from-Seinfeld-dancing, did-I-mention-uncoordinated person.
