Darlene Carlsson is a Writing Team Lead for Hennessey Digital. Back when “content” was still called “copy,” Darlene began her career as a copywriter for an agency in Phoenix, AZ. After a few layoffs during the dot.bomb era, she took a writing hiatus, detouring into the beauty industry where she became a successful nail technician and ersatz psychologist to the well-heeled. During an unscheduled existential crisis, she relocated and began writing again. Before long, she had amassed a sizable portfolio of product content and display advertising for everything from trendy baby toys to shot glasses shaped like gun shells.
When she’s not busy playing Tetris with Words, Darlene enjoys being a loyal servant to her cats, eating her boyfriend’s cooking, critiquing the latest horror films, and clicking “add to cart.” Darlene is a graduate of Arizona State University with a BA in Human Communication.
