TOP WORK STRENGTHS: Striving to articulate what the client wants, taking pride in my work, giving attention to detail

Brian is a Writing Team Lead at Hennessey with more than 20 years of writing and editing experience. Before joining Hennessey as a fulltime writer, Brian worked freelance for Hennessey’s ihatecancer.org. Brian attended Michigan State University for journalism and English and then UCLA, where he studied screenwriting. Brian worked for newspapers and magazines as a reporter and editor before moving to California and living with a soap actor who got him an internship at General Hospital. There he delivered scripts to Luke and Laura and sorted fan mail for Ricky Martin. That should have been enough, but Brian went on to work for various production companies, which led to writing and rewriting everything from press releases to animated films and television shows.

When Brian is not writing for Hennessey, he works on his novel, invests in real estate and the stock market, paints commissioned watercolor portraits, or plays his drums. He has a daughter that lives in the Netherlands and a wife who gives virtual music lessons from her home studio. He also has one hilarious dog and eight passive-aggressive chickens, including Eggness Moorehen, Harriet Beakman, and Atilla the Hen.

My hero is:

My mom. She's gone through a lot of painful health issues throughout the years and has always managed to keep a sense of humor. She has never let it diminish her love for life or her desire to try new things.

My #1 HD Core Principle

Make it fun; Don't Be a Jerk. Work (and working remotely) can be a challenge; however, it becomes more enjoyable when we keep things light and respect each other's talents.

“Patience is waiting. Not passively waiting. That is laziness. But to keep going when the going is hard and slow — that is patience. The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.” ― Leo Tolstoy
