Hennessey Digital, a leading search engine optimization (SEO) and digital marketing agency in North America, is seeking a highly-organized, self-motivated Manager, Marketing & Communications to join its in-house Marketing and Communications team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing, email marketing, content, communications and social media initiatives that result in lead generation, increased engagement, and increased visibility for the company. This position reports to the Senior Director of Marketing & Communications, and works closely with Hennessey Digital’s Business Development, Engineering, Client Services, People Success and Executive Leadership teams.
The ideal candidate for this role is a team player who is an excellent storyteller, demonstrates the ability to identify opportunities and develop strategies, has strong writing, grammar and editing skills, can communicate effectively and clearly to different audiences, has a passion for business growth and influencing decision makers, exhibits a solution-focused mindset, and has at least four (4) years of marketing and/or PR/communications experience, including experience developing and implementing email marketing campaigns and web content. Prior experience within a PR, Media or Digital Marketing agency is preferred.

As a member of the Marketing & Communications team of a rapidly-growing company, it’s important you have an entrepreneurial attitude, the ability to embrace change, and have strong project management skills to be able to successfully manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects. As our Senior Manager, Marketing & Communications, you will also be expected to be up-to-date with the latest social media trends and familiar with digital technologies available in the marketplace that enable the delivery and consumption of information.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development Hennessey Digital’s annual marketing & communication strategies to achieve established lead generation and growth OKRs that support the company’s overall goals.
- Develop Hennessey Digital’s email marketing strategy to build brand awareness and generate leads. Manage the day-to-day creation, execution and reporting of Hennessey Digital’s email marketing calendar.
- Write and coordinate the implementation of website content to support the SEO and lead generation initiatives for the company’s website.
- Create marketing and communications project plans, messaging and marketing materials for internal (team members) and external audiences (clients, prospects and marketplace) that educate, inform and persuade about the company’s services, technology innovation, and marketing technologies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to leverage Hennessey Digital’s services internally, externally and among clients.
- Support the New Business/Sales team with strategic, targeted email outreach and other marketing strategies to drive conversations and generate leads.
- Coordinate company presence and logistics at events and networking opportunities, including on-site visibility, booth shipment when applicable, event collateral, email marketing, giveaways, etc. to enhance our audience’s experience with Hennessey Digital.
- Develop the company’s organic social media strategy and manage day-to-day execution and engagement on multiple social channels (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
- Coordinate Hennessey Digital’s industry award circuit by identifying opportunities, writing and submitting awards on behalf of the company and clients.
- Support People Success with new hire profiles on the Hennessey Digital website.
- On an as-needed basis, contribute to the ideation and execution of additional initiatives as they relate to Hennessey Digital Marketing & Communications, the CEO’s brand (Jason Hennessey, or other initiatives within the Hennessey group of companies).
Experience & Qualifications
- 4 years of PR, Communications and/or Digital Marketing experience in-house or in an agency environment
- Experiencing developing and executing successful email marketing campaigns resulting in engagement and lead generation / user acquisition.
- Strong writing experience demonstrating the ability for storytelling, positioning, persuasion, and the ability to connect the dots
- Hands-on experience in writing online and offline content. Familiarity with effective strategies when writing for the web.
- Excellent writing, grammar and editing skills
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and develop strategies
- Project management experience
- Experience developing and implementing social media strategies for a company, brand or agency preferred but not required
- Ability to deliver creative content (text, image, video)
- Working knowledge of digital marketing channels and strategies including: SEO, paid media, video, keyword research and Google Analytics, analytics and reporting
- Experience collaborating with department leads
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Accountable self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team
- Ability to perform well under pressure and handle information with professionalism

BA degree in Marketing, Communications, or relevant field
