Fall is conference season and the last part of the year is stacked with legal industry events. From CAALA this summer to back-to-back conferences through November, our clients are booked and busy through the end of 2021.
This September, our team was at ATAA, TBI, and PILMMA which are key conferences for law firm owners and industry partners. We had team members divide and conquer, splitting up for concurrent events on both U.S. coasts.
Here’s our take on September legal industry events we attended along with our top takeaways:
Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys Symposium (ATAA)
ATAA, the annual symposium of the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys, was in friendly Austin, Texas this year. Our team spoke with attorneys about SEO and shared insights from Jason’s book.
With a handful of team members here in Austin, we had a team meetup with Rob Coleman and Matt McLean over a barbecue lunch. It’s great for virtual teams like ours to meet in person when possible and create intentional time to bond and have fun together. At Hennessey Digital, we make it a priority.
TBI Med Legal Conference (TBI)
Top names in the trial lawyer community are at this conference, so TBI is a must-attend for trial lawyers. TBI is also unique because it’s one of the few events that brings doctors and lawyers together.
Jason spoke on a legal marketing expert panel and shared insights from our law firm response study. Attorneys were candid about the challenges they’re facing, and we had positive conversations about ways to grow their business.
Always one to help out, Paul Liebman of X Social Media took to signing some books while Jason was away from our booth. Thanks, Paul: glad to know you’ve got our backs!
PILMMA Super Summit 2021 (PILMMA)
PILMMA is a longtime Hennessey Digital partner that also helps law firms grow. Its annual event, the PILMMA Super Summit, was in Washington D.C. last week.
Jason Hennessey opened the summit with an SEO talk that had the room buzzing. Our team got to meet with PILMMA keynote speaker Rudy Ruettiger of Notre Dame football fame: an inspiring story and a reminder that big moves take hard work.
Between ATAA, TBI, and PILMMA, we handed out over 350 free copies of Jason’s book Law Firm SEO! If you got a copy, expect to hear from Rob or Brian.
Why Events Are Important for Lawyers
Lawyers want maximum value from the legal industry events they choose to attend. This means earning CLE credits and networking with attorneys in the same practice or geographic area. ATAA, PILMMA, and TBI are perfect for these.
For lawyers, conference season also means learning about ways to grow their business. (Enter: the SEO dream team.)
Each legal industry event we attended this September was valuable. We’re always learning and meeting interesting people, and the last few weeks on the road have reinforced for us that:
- Strong partnerships are crucial. Our friends at Alert Communications, X Social Media, and PILMMA work hard to deliver value for law firms like we do. And when we work together, amazing things happen for our clients. (Watch for something coming from us and Trial Lawyers University soon!)
- You get what you give. As with industry partnerships, the client/agency relationship is a symbiosis. When we’re generous with information that helps grow a business, like how to increase law firm leads using the power of SEO, the ripple effect it creates from there always pays us back tenfold.
- There’s no substitute for live events. Technology brought us together when COVID hit, but big ideas and new relationships thrive IRL. We’re grateful for event staff keeping everyone safe with strict protocols so we can meet in person again because Zoom meetings can’t replace sitting down over a meal or a drink, especially in San Diego.
Upcoming Legal Industry Events
Jason is speaking at multiple events throughout October and November, and Hennessey Digital also has some exciting collaborations in the works with industry partners. Watch this space and follow our social media closely for updates.
