SEO Manager – Research and Development

The SEO Manager – Research and Development will be responsible for reaching out to vendors, testing, evaluating, launching, and training on new systems, products, and strategies.
Hennessey Digital, a leading SEO and digital marketing agency, is looking for a highly organized, efficient, and self-motivated SEO Manager – Research and Developmentto join the team and work with our VP of SEO and Senior Director of SEO.

The desired candidate will possess excellent organizational and communication skills—as well as be familiar with project management in a creative agency atmosphere.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Evaluate new tools and strategies and work with the VP of SEO to roll out successful ones across the entire SEO team. Train new individuals on the strategy.
- Perform a detailed research on new and existing strategies for the areas of SEO, GMB, PR and Outreach, and SEO. Present findings to internal teams and/or clients addressing concerns and solutions utilizing new and effective strategies.
- Work with the internal team to document the strategy for our SEO Department.
- Standardize, document, and distribute procedures for the areas of SEO, GBP, PR and Outreach, SEO rules for website design and architecture, etc. as appropriate.
- Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to position Hennessey Digital as innovative, industry-leading experts.
- Serve as an “early warning” function inside the company as search engines change and the company’s search strategy needs to evolve.
- Drive Research and Development function for the SEO Department.
- Make recommendations and evaluate the effectiveness of new and existing new strategies. With the leadership team, build out related processes and document the strategy for our SEO Department.
- Analyze client sites utilizing best practice research strategies and techniques.
- Analyze and test SEO trends for effectiveness.
- Support the leadership team to standardize, document, and distribute procedures for the areas of SEO, GMB, PR and Outreach, SEO rules for website design and architecture, etc. as appropriate.
- Identify and promptly raise any issues or delays as they arise with a mindset toward problem-solving.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in SEO, required
- Experience with SEO tools including but not limited to Bright Edge, Searchmetrics, SEO Clarity, Moz, Conductor
- 3+ years agency experience preferred
- Critical thinking “outside the box”
- Utilization of artificial intelligence (AI)
- Proven track record of successful project management and multi-tasking skills with the ability to hit and exceed deadlines required
- Proficiency with Google Docs, and other common applications
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral while paying close attention to detail
- Excellent command of the English language
Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience
