Hennessey Digital, a leading search engine optimization (SEO) and digital marketing agency in North America, is seeking a highly organized, self-motivated Content Strategist to join its team. The ideal candidate for this role is a consummate team player who is data-driven, detail-oriented, and has 1+ years of SEO content experience.
We are a fully remote and highly collaborative team of digital marketing thought leaders located all over the country. We provide white-glove service to our clients, and we’re looking for a thoughtful team member who can ensure that all projects are delivered on time, on budget, and on strategy.

The desired candidate will possess excellent organizational and communication skills—as well as be familiar with project management in a creative agency atmosphere.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Ideate and oversee the content strategy for a select portfolio of clients.
- Audit site architecture, keyword mapping, and content performance of new clients.
- Conduct ongoing gap audits, page-level analysis, and competitor & keyword research for all clients.
- Create detailed content plans that lay out what pages we will create each quarter, balancing SEO best practices, innovative research strategies, and client requests.
- Ensure clients receive their content plans in a timely manner and that they understand and approve the strategy behind each plan.
- Collaborate with SEO Account Managers to stay on top of client content priorities/needs.
- Keep clear, detailed records of research, strategic decisions, and priority changes.
- Provide all necessary instructions and information to our Content Production and Publication teams to ensure content will be produced correctly.
- Track content progress in our content production queue to ensure content is being delivered and published on time.
- Track the performance of published content, adjusting the strategy as needed.
- Attend team meetings with clients and communicate with them directly as needed.
- Manage tickets and tasks inside our project management system.
Experience
- 1+ years of SEO, content marketing, or other relevant experience.
- Experience writing or editing SEO content.
- Experience with SEO tools, specifically Google Search Console, Analytics, Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog.
- Proficient with WordPress. Other CMS systems a bonus.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Highly responsive and able to multitask and take initiative.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification
Bachelors degree is preferred.
